衍生性商品市場與風險管理

Derivatives Markets and Risk Management

ESA-announce Faculty positions at Michigan: Social Computing

Posted on 2011/10/24. Filed under: 經濟, 綜合, 實驗 | 標籤:, , |

Dear Colleagues,

Several people asked me about our deadline for the tenure track position in Social Computing. The search committee will start reviewing applications after November 1, but applications will be accepted till late November. Hope that helps.

If you decide to apply, it will help the search committee greatly if you can explain in your cover letters how and why you think you fit the Social Computing job description and the School. It will increase your chance of securing an interview than submitting a generic cover letter. Please do not hesitate to contact me or Erin Krupka if you have any questions regarding this position or the diversity postdoc position.

Sincerely,

Yan

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to bring your attention to a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level at the School of Information, University of Michigan. This position was published in the October JOE, in the area of Social Computing. Please see the URL for explanations in econ jargon: http://www.aeaweb.org/joe/listing.php?JOE_ID=201110_396090. Please note that the application deadline is Nov. 1.

In addition to the tenure-track position, the University of Michigan has several postdoctoral “diversity fellowships." See a full description of the postdoc at http://www.si.umich.edu/aboutsi/postdoc. Candidates can be in any field of interest to School of Information (SI), including behavioral and experimental economics. Unlike ordinary postdoc positions, the candidates will be under serious considerations for tenure-track positions at SI after completing the postdoc.

A few important points:

1) Potential postdoc candidates need to specify a mentor at SI. They need to contact this mentor before applying and secure his/her agreement to sponsor.

2) Potential postdoc candidates need to contact Paul Edwards by October 24 before submitting an application (pne).

3) The criteria for diversity are extremely broad now, and include not only race, ethnicity, etc. but also economic hardship, first person in a family to attend college, women in the economic profession, and other backgrounds not well represented in our faculty. They also include people whose research and/or teaching is directed at increasing diversity and equal opportunity. Examples of appropriate backgrounds and activities are at http://goo.gl/IA3lo

Thanks,

Yan

Among other facilities, we have a 80 cubicles experimental platform allowing us to run large groups experiments. In the Burgundy School of Business, there are several multidisciplinary research teams. Dijon is a great city to dicover Burgundy wine and gastronomy and France a nice country to live in.

We would like to invite you to submit a draft paper/extended abstract to The 3rd International Conference on Engineering and Meta-Engineering: ICEME 2012 (http://www.2012iiisconferences.org/iceme) to be held on March 25th – 28th, 2012 in Orlando, Florida, USA

The deadlines are the following:
********************************
Papers/Abstracts Submission and Invited Session Proposals: November 10th, 2011

Authors Notifications: January 13th, 2012

Camera-ready, full papers: February 3rd, 2012

(Check the web site for possible extensions)
****************
Collocated events are listed at http://www.iiis.org/iiis/current_submissions_deadlines.asp . Participants can attend any session of the collocated events and will receive a CD with the papers of all the collocated events

****************
Technical keynote speakers will be selected from early submissions because this selection requires an additional evaluation according to the quality of the paper, assessed by its reviewers, the authors’ CV and the paper’s topic.

Submissions for *Face-to-Face* or for *Virtual* Participation are both accepted. Both kinds of submissions will have the same reviewing process and the accepted papers will be included in the same proceedings.

All Submitted papers/abstracts will go through three reviewing processes: (1) double-blind (at least three reviewers), (2) non-blind, and (3) participative peer reviews. These three kinds of review will support the selection process of those papers/abstracts that will be accepted for their presentation at the conference, as well as those to be selected for their publication in JSCI Journal.

Pre-Conference and Post-conference Virtual sessions (via electronic forums) will be held for each session included in the conference program, so that sessions papers can be read before the conference, and authors presenting at the same session can interact during one week before and after the conference. Authors can also participate in peer-to-peer reviewing in virtual sessions.

Authors of accepted papers who registered in the conference can have access to the evaluations and possible feedback provided by the reviewers who recommended the acceptance of their papers/abstracts, so they can accordingly improve the final version of their papers. Non-registered authors will not have access to the reviews of their respective submissions.

Registration fees of an effective invited session organizer will be waived according to the policy described in the conference web page (click on ‘Invited Session’ and, then, on ‘Benefits for the Organizers of Invited Sessions’), where you can get information about the ten benefits for an invited session organizer. For Invited Sessions Proposals, please press the menu option ‘Invited Sessions’ and, then, the sub-option ‘Invited Sessions Organizers’.

Authors of the best 10%-20% of the papers presented at the conference (included those virtually presented) will be invited to adapt their papers for their publication in the Journal of Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics.

Best regards,

ICEME 2012 Organizing Committee

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Becker Friedman Institute for Research in Economics at the University of Chicago, I am announcing an opening for a Postdoctoral Scholar (possibly 2 openings) to begin in August, 2012. The applicant should have a focus on experimental methodology and behavioral economics.

Experience in conducting field experiments is preferred but not required. Preferred areas of concentration are economics of education, health economics, public economics, and/or environmental. The applicant should also have good communication skills since part of the postdoctoral appointment is interacting with potential collaborating organizations in the field and managing research staff.

See the announcement below. Feel free to email me with questions, and please pass this along to your departments and to potential applicants. We will be interviewing at the AEA meetings.

Thanks! – Anya
