ESA-announce Reminder: Funding Opportunity at the Science of Philanthropy Initiative
This is a reminder that if you are interested in applying for a small or large grant at the Science of Philanthropy Initiative, your letter of inquiry is due October 1, 2012. Information on this funding opportunity can be found below.
John List at University of Chicago, Anya Samak at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Michael Price at Georgia State University have received funding from the Templeton Foundation to launch The Science of Philanthropy Initiative (SPI). The goal of SPI is to use experimental methodology and theory to develop a deeper understanding of the types of social preferences that shape philanthropic giving.
A major component of SPI is a new award program to support research involving the application of economic experiments to philanthropy and decision-making. The Initiative has $650,000 to award over the next 3 years for both large and small (PhD student dissertation) grants.
There will be two award cycles. A Letter of Inquiry for the first award cycle is due October 1. The full RFP can be viewed at www.spihub.org
Please note that there was an error in the submission email address in the original RFP sent around in July. Submissions should be sent to contact(at)spihub.org
If you previously submitted a letter to a different address, please resubmit to this email.
We look forward to receiving your submissions.
