ESA-announce Postdoctoral Positions at NYUAD Social Sciences Experimental Laboratory (SSEL)
The Social Sciences Experimental Laboratory (SSEL) at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking two talented post-doctoral researchers. The positions should commence in September 2013 (but the exact start date is negotiable) and will be based in Abu Dhabi although they are likely to involve travel to NYU’s New York and Shanghai campuses as well as other locations. The positions are for two-years, but can be renewed for a third year after successful performance in the first year. The positions provide remuneration higher than internationally competitive rates for postdoctoral positions in addition to generous benefits and travel allowances.
The successful candidates will take a leadership role in conducting lab, lab-in-the-field, and field experiments through SSEL under the direction of Professor Rebecca Morton, SSEL Director. Post-doctoral researchers will also be expected to teach one of the following courses per academic year depending on training and expertise: mathematics for social scientists, statistics/econometrics, principles of microeconomics, or principles of macroeconomics.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in economics, political science, sociology, or a related field or be near completion of such degree. Previous experience conducting social science experimental research (either lab, lab-in-the-field, and/or field) is essential. The successful candidate will have strong experimental design, data analysis, writing, and organizational skills. In addition, knowledge of STATA, MATLAB, R, Z-Tree, and/or ORSEE is desirable. Candidates should also be self-motivated and willing to travel.
Applications will be reviewed beginning January 20th. Applications submitted after this date will be considered until the positions are filled. To apply, please visit NYUAD’s website at: http://nyuad.nyu.edu/about/careers/faculty-positions.html (The position is listed as Postdoctoral Positions at Social Sciences Experimental Laboratory).
