Two postdoc positions related to experimental economics and environmental/resource economics

The Laboratory for Experimental & Applied Economics at the University of Delaware seeks qualified candidates to serve in two positions related to applying experimental economics techniques to environmental and resource issues:

Position #1: Postdoc/Research Associate of Experimental Economics with an Emphasis on and Water Resource Economics

Description:

The Laboratory for Experimental & Applied Economics at the University of Delaware seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a postdoc/research associate for two years or three years. Under the supervision of the lab director, the successful candidate will work on an interdisciplinary team of researchers from the University of Delaware, the University of Rhode Island and the University of Vermont. The position will focus on applying experimental and behavioral economics to interdisciplinary research related to emerging issues related to water and coastal resources. Candidates with a computer programming background that can support laboratory and field experiments will be preferred. Experience with agent-based modeling is also desirable, but not required. The project is supported from funds from the National Science Foundation.

Opportunities: The successful candidate will have the opportunity to co-author several publications and travel to and participate in professional conferences. If desired, the successful candidate may have an opportunity to teach a course or two related to resource economics or experimental economics. This successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work on research with graduate and undergraduate students. The position will offer an above-average salary that is commensurate with qualifications and experience. An attractive fringe benefit package is included.

Qualifications: A PhD in agricultural or applied economics, environmental and resource economics, economics with an emphasis on experimental and behavioral economics, or a closely related field. Applicants are expected to have strong training and experience with experimental and behavioral economics and its application to resource economics and interdisciplinary research. Applicants who are ABD and have significant experience with experimental economics will be also be considered.

Position #2: Postdoc Fellow of Experimental Economics with an Emphasis on Resource and Environmental Economics

Description:

The Laboratory for Experimental & Applied Economics at the University of Delaware seeks a qualified candidate to serve as a postdoc fellow for 2-3 years with the opportunity for renewal for up to five years. Under the supervision of the lab director, the successful candidate will work on an interdisciplinary team of researchers from the University of Delaware, Delaware State University, Wesley College, and Delaware Technical College. The position will focus on applying experimental and behavioral economics to interdisciplinary research related to emerging issues related to a variety of resource and environmental economics issues including coastal contaminants and sea level rise, land use change, water resources, and alternative energy. Candidates with a computer programming background that can support laboratory and field experiments will be preferred. The project is supported from funds from the National Science Foundation.
