Position: Research Fellow, Centre for Health Economics, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia
Research Fellow, Centre for Health Economics, Monash University, Australia (Level B, FT, fixed 12 months)
The Centre for Health Economics is currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Research Fellow to join a highly motivated team at Clayton Campus.
You will participate in an Australian Research Council (ARC) project to assess how individuals report their self-assessed health, and to see if individuals accurately report or mis-report. The primary focus of the role will be to develop an online survey to collect self-reported health measures including vignettes responses, and to analyse this and further international panel datasets using econometric methods to understand reporting behaviours and how best to adjust such behaviours.
The Research Fellow will work in a small team to carry out this research; the team is international, with investigators based in Perth (Prof Mark Harris), Lancaster (Prof Bruce Hollingsworth), York (Prof Nigel Rice), Newcastle upon Tyne (Prof John Wildman) and New York (Prof William Greene), thus the position offers considerable learning opportunities from world leading scholars at world leading universities and the opportunity to travel.
You will also be responsible for:
– assisting in the conceptual development and implementation of the research
– preparing research reports and academic papers
– administrative functions primarily connected with the area of research.
To be successful you will have a Doctoral qualification in health economics, economics or econometrics (or equivalent relevant research experience), a high level of microeconometric or statistical expertise, an ability to work both independently and as a member of a team and experience with data collection, handling and analysis.
Experience in survey development, including qualitative analysis, is also highly desirable.
This role is a full-time position (fixed for 12 months); however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
