ESA-announce Fwd: Non-tenure-track position

The College of Social Sciences and Public Policy at Florida State University invites applications for a non-tenure track teaching position in the field of Interdisciplinary Social Science. This is a unique position designed to integrate cross- disciplinary education, research and related activities within the College. The successful applicant will have a strong interdisciplinary orientation grounded in Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Geography, Urban and Regional Planning or Public Administration. He or she will work with faculty in several disciplines to create and teach courses for majors in Interdisciplinary Social Science that demonstrate how insights from multiple disciplines bring value to the analysis of public policy issues and that emphasize evidence based decision making.
Additional responsibilities will include advising and mentoring students, engaging ISS majors in undergraduate research and policy seminars, internship opportunities and similar activities. The position will begin in August, 2014. The teaching load is three courses per semester.
Applicants should hold the PhD in one of the disciplines of social science and have interdisciplinary teaching and research experience. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated commitment to and success in teaching undergraduates, as well as experience with contemporary instructional technology and on-line teaching applications.
