Dan Quillen Memorial Issue
To celebrate the life and career of Dan Quillen, The Quarterly Journal of Mathematics has published a memorial issue reflecting on his work. The issue is free to read online for the next three months.

Dan Quillen was Waynflete Professor of Mathematics at Oxford from 1984 until 2006, having previously held a chair at MIT.

He was particularly well known as the architect of higher algebraic K-theory, but worked in many areas of algebra, topology and

geometry. His many contributions include determinant lines, the Mathai-Quillen superconnection formalism, and the Loday-Quillen theorem relating algebraic K-theory to cyclic homology.

Quillen was awarded a Fields Medal at the 1978 International Congress of Mathematicians in Helsinki.
