Social Networks have, in the recent years, had an important role in social and political transformation, and in the emergence of new cultural and artistic expression forms. They have resulted in huge economic activity in areas such as targeted advertisement and marketing (e.g., those performed by platforms such as Google, Facebook), opinion detection (e.g., several indicators derived by Twitter data).
The deployment of social networks raises many new scientific and engineering challenges and questions. This special issue seeks contributions that use dynamic game theory to study economic and engineering aspects of social networks and may help both to justify empirical evidence and the design of those platforms.
In 2015, Dynamic Games and Applications will publish a special issue concerning recent work in this very active area of research. This special issue welcomes submissions from theoreticians and applied researchers working on all aspects of dynamic games in social networks. In particular, we are interested in (but not limited to) papers concerned with the following areas:
· Advertisement and marketing with social networks (SNs)
· Modeling competition among SN users over resources
· Cooperative game approaches for network formation
· Competition and cooperation between different SNs
· Game theoretic issues related to groups, timelines, and walls
· Competition over influence in SNs
· Zero-sum games for studying epidemic spread of adversarial content and protection against such content
Submission Deadline: March 30, 2014
Earlier submission is encouraged, and papers will appear online following acceptance in advance of the production of the full special issue.
Publication Date: September, 2015
