Grade 7: Salary in the range £29,541 – £33,230 per annum (part-time considered)

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in the area of the statistical and economic modelling of individual savings behaviour. The School has obtained two very large databases on UK and Australian savings behaviour over the period 2000-2012, providing an opportunity to conduct innovative research on the impact of events on the pattern of behaviour as well as its correlates during a period characterised by significant financial turmoil. You will work with Professor Gordon Clark, Director of the Smith School in developing research on these issues, and in facilitating collaborative relationships with key universities involved with these issues.

You will have a PhD or MSc/MPhil or equivalent experience in statistics, mathematics, quantitative finance or economics; demonstrated ability to utilise advanced applied statistical and econometric tools; ability to undertake spreadsheet analysis as well as apply numeracy in computer and statistical programming; have excellent communication skills in English and be willing to work in a demanding environment.

The appointment will be available for up to 24 months.
