ESA-announce 2014 North American meetings of the ESA — website and registration open
The 2014 North-American ESA Conference, hosted by Florida State University, will be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the Westin Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, from Thursday evening October 16th to Saturday October 18th, 2014. Becky Morton and John Kagel have agreed to be the plenary speakers. The local conference website is now available via this link: esana14 .
Some important notes for those of you who are thinking of coming to the conference.
1) South Florida is a very popular tourist destination, and October is the beginning of the busy season. You probably should not delay too long on booking a plane ticket.
2) The hotel is accessible from both Ft. Lauderdale and Miami airports (approximately 20 & 45 minute drives respectively), and either is a good option for visitors. We are looking into getting a group discount for shuttle services, so check back on the website.
3) The September 15th deadline for hotel registration is firm. The conference is in October in South Florida, and the hotel is on the beach. Please do not count on getting a room if you miss the deadline. Our deal with the hotel allows you to get the conference rate for [$179.00 + taxes] from October 13 to October 21 if you want to spend some extra time in South Florida. A further warning: there are several Westin hotels in the Ft. Lauderdale area; please make sure that you are registering at the Westin Beach Resort per the link on the Conference Webpage.
4) The September 17th deadline for late registration is also firm. If you miss this deadline, you will *not* be able to make a presentation. Catering needs to have information from us a month in advance, so if you miss the deadline you will *not* be able to attend the opening reception, the conference dinner, or any conference breaks where food and beverages will be provided. If you are bringing family or friends to the reception and/or dinner, please note that you will need to pay a non-registered guest fee by September 17th. This deadline is also firm.
Sun, sand, and experimental economics – how can you beat that! We hope to see you in Florida this fall!
Best wishes from the organizing committee,
-Allen Blay, David Cooper, Jens Grosser, Mark Isaac, Svetlana Pevnitskaya, & Dmitry Ryvkin

We are still working on the hotel options. There will be rooms available at a discount in a four-star hotel and we are trying to expand the menu. As I mentioned previously, we have arranged for a large block of dorm rooms that cost around EUR 15/night in order to make the conference more accessible for those on a limited budget. Details are provided on the website in the section titled “Hotels”.
Should you have any questions, please email us at email@example.com.
We are looking forward to see you in Prague!
