ESA-announce PhD position in Strategic Management
The Strategic Management area at the University of Vienna is seeking applicants for a PhD position.
The Strategic Management area has commenced its operations in August 2012. We investigate questions pertaining to strategic decision-making of organizations and related performance implications. We are particularly interested in early-stage (organizational design) decisions relevant to firms operating in (technologically) innovative environments. We are agnostic to methods, and so far our work has been either formally analytically, large-scale empirical or experimental in nature. For more information about the Strategic Management area please visit: http://strategy.univie.ac.at/
Applicant should have completed their Master/Diploma degrees (or be very near completion) by the time of their application. Relevant study experience in a (native) English speaking environment is a strong plus. Knowledge of German is not required.
Successful candidates will join the Strategy Area as research and teaching associates
• on a 30 hours/week contract (gross salary amounting to approx. 26’500 €/annum),
• and will be enrolled in the Department’s PhD program in Management (specializing in Strategic Management : http://strategy.univie.ac.at/information-for-students/phd-program-in-management-and-strategic-management-specialization/)
The program is modeled after leading US business schools’ doctoral programs and comprised of intensive course work at the postgraduate level, research presentations, as well as the drafting of the actual thesis. The goal of the program is to prepare candidates for a career in international academe.
Applicants should email their documents to strategic-management, subject “PhD student application”.
