PhD studentships, University of York

The Department of Economics and Related Studies at the University of York is recruiting new PhD students in Economics for next academic year (2015-2016) and there are available some PhD studentships:

· ESRC PhD Studentships – Deadline noon 3 February 2015

· Departmental PhD Studentships – Deadline 30 April 2015

ESRC studentships are available for Economics and Advanced Quantitative Methods (AQM) for home and EU students and they pay for fees plus a yearly stipend of about 13,700£ for three years (+3 PhD only) or four years (1+3 Master plus PhD). Students in economics are usually eligible for an additional £3,000 maintenance grant per year. ESRC studentships are filled in open competition within the White Rose Social Science Doctoral Training Centre. For more details see

Departmental Studentships are available to Home, EU and Overseas students and have a value of about GBP 15.5K per year for a duration of three years. Students who hold a Departmental Studentship are expected to pay their own fees. For more details see
