ESA-announce Call for Proposals – Discrimination and Affirmative Action
Apologies for possible cross-posting. This is to inform you that UNU-WIDER is assembling a journal special issue focused on discrimination against marginalized groups and policies implemented to mitigate the effects of discrimination. UNU-WIDER invites paper proposals from qualified researchers exploring discrimination against ethnically and racially marginalized groups and affirmative action, in both developing and developed countries. Some of the topics of interest (but not limited to) are: sources of discrimination and dynamics over time, the role it plays in perpetuating inequality through labour and credit markets, evaluations of anti-discrimination policies, etc. While the emphasis is on empirical papers using survey data, lab or field experiments, theoretical work will be considered as well.
Researchers will be paid an honorarium in the range of USD 6,000-10,000 per paper, depending on the qualifications of the lead researcher and the requirements of the proposal. It is expected that this will cover all expenses associated with the research – data collection, lab experiments, research assistance etc. It is not required to submit a budget.
A copy of the call for proposals is attached. Details of the project and the submission process are available on UNU-WIDER’s website: http://www.wider.unu.edu/opportunities/proposals/en_GB/research-proposal-discrimination-affirmative-action/
The deadline for submissions is 28th February. We look forward to your submissions.
