Each paper will be peer-reviewed by two experts in the field for originality, significance, clarity, impact, and soundness. In cases
of contradictory recommendations, a member of the conference program committee will be charged to make the final decision (accept/reject) – often, this would involve seeking help from additional referees by using a double-blinded review process. In
addition, all papers whose authors included a member of the conference program committee will be evaluated using the double-blinded review process. (Essay/philosophical papers will not be refereed but may be considered for discussion/panels).

An important mission of WORLDCOMP is “Providing a unique platform for a diverse community of constituents composed of scholars, researchers, developers, educators, and practitioners. The Congress makes concerted effort to reach out to participants affiliated with diverse entities (such as: universities, institutions, corporations, government agencies, and research centers/labs) from all over the world. The congress also attempts to connect participants from institutions that have teaching as their main mission with those who are affiliated with institutions that have research as their main mission. The congress uses a quota system to achieve its institution and geography diversity objectives."

One main goal of the congress is to assemble a spectrum of affiliated research conferences, workshops, and symposiums into a coordinated research meeting held in a common place at a common time. This model facilitates communication among researchers in different fields of computer science, computer engineering, and applied computing. The Congress also encourages multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary research initiatives; ie, facilitating increased opportunities for cross-fertilization across sub-disciplines.

According to “Microsoft Academic Search" (a Microsoft initiative) all tracks of WORLDCOMP are listed as worldwide “Top-ranked Conferences" (based on various metrics but mainly based on the number of citations). You can access “Microsoft Academic Search" to extract citation data for each individual track of worldcomp using the following link: http://academic.research.microsoft.com/ As of March 4, 2011, the papers published in the proceedings have received 14,385  citations which is a higher citation than many reputable journals in computer science.

Advanced Topics for Panel Data Model

* Pooled Mean Group model。實作軟體:Stata

Advanced Problems for Linear Panel-data Models: Endogeneity/Multi-level

* 多層次資料的圖形分析法,實作軟體:R(週三上午, 半天課程)

ESA-announce Second Sydney Winter School on Experimental Economics, 18-22 July 2011

Posted on 2011/04/03.

The School of Economics at The University of Sydney is pleased to announce a five-day winter school on advanced topics in experimental economics.

Two leading international experimental economists will participate in the winter school as teaching faculty. They are Professor Simon Gächter (University of Nottingham) and Professor Graham Loomes (University of Warwick).

The winter school will comprise four days of intensive coursework and laboratory sessions. On a fifth day, there will be a research
symposium in which participants will have the opportunity to present results of their own research. The symposium will also include a poster session, in which participants will be able to present more preliminary work, including work at a design stage.

The winter school is intended primarily for PhD students from the Australasian region, however applications from early-career
postdoctoral researchers and applicants from other parts of the world will also be considered should places be available. It is expected that all participants will either already be using experimental economics methods in their research, or intending to apply these methods to investigate aspects of their current research interests.

The deadline for applications is 5 pm, 16 May 2011 (Sydney time). To be considered for a place in the winter school, applicants must BOTH a) complete the application form online at the winter school homepage, and b) email a copy of their current CV to sydneywinterschool@gmail.com.

Successful applicants will be notified of their acceptance not later than 1 June 2011. It is expected that those who are accepted will
participate in the entire winter school – it is not possible to apply to attend only a part of it.

There will be no registration fee for the winter school. However the organisers regret that we are unable to provide any financial support for participants’ travel to or accommodation in Sydney.

For further information, and to submit an application, please visit the winter school homepage at: http://sites.google.com/site/sydneywinterschool/.
