Several people asked me about our deadline for the tenure track position in Social Computing. The search committee will start reviewing applications after November 1, but applications will be accepted till late November. Hope that helps.

In addition to the tenure-track position, the University of Michigan has several postdoctoral “diversity fellowships." See a full description of the postdoc at Candidates can be in any field of interest to School of Information (SI), including behavioral and experimental economics. Unlike ordinary postdoc positions, the candidates will be under serious considerations for tenure-track positions at SI after completing the postdoc.

A few important points:

ESA-announce preliminary program of the 2011 North-American ESA Conference

The preliminary program of the 2010 North-American ESA Conference in Tucson is attached. Please note that the last speaker in a session is responsible for chairing the session. Breakfast (7:00am-8:00am) and lunch (12:00-1:20pm) are provided by the conference on both Friday and Saturday.

IMPORTANT: October 11 is the cutoff date for the reduced rate at the Westward Look. If you are planning on staying at the Westward Look, we encourage you to make reservations as soon as possible by calling 800 722-2500. Mention that you are part of the ESA group in order to obtain the reduced rate.

The cutoff date for the early registration fee is October 17. If you have not already done so, please login to the ESA’s website and register for the conference.

Please make sure you register asap; talks are automatically removed from the schedule if the corresponding presenter has not paid the registration fee two weeks prior to the start of the conference.

The International Max Planck Research School on Adapting Behavior in a Fundamentally Uncertain World (IMPRS Uncertainty) invites outstanding candidates to apply for doctoral fellowships in Law, Economics, and Psychology.

The IMPRS Uncertainty combines approaches from Economics, Law and Psychology to explain human decisions under uncertainty more effectively and to better design institutional responses.

The Uncertainty-School is jointly hosted by the Max Planck Institutes of Economics in Jena, for Human Development in Berlin, for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn, and the Department of Social Psychology and the School of Economics and Business Administration of the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. International Partners are the Program in Cognitive Science and the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis at Indiana University, Bloomington, the Interdepartmental Centre for Research Training in Economics and Management (CIFREM) at the University of Trento, and the Center for Rationality at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Associated Partner is the University of Bonn, „Rechts- und Staatswissenschaftliche Fakultät, Fachbereich Rechtswissenschaften“.

The Curriculum of the IMPRS-Uncertainty has three pillars: a four-week summer school, an annual Thesis and Topics Workshop, and local training. Additionally scholars are encouraged to spend a term at a cooperating international institution.

Applicants are required to hold a Diploma, a Masters Degree or a State Exam with honors in one of the above mentioned disciplines or an equivalent degree in a related discipline. ESA-announce Workshop Behavioral Personnel Economics 25/26 Nov

ZEW/Tinbergen Workshop on Behavioral Personnel Economics.

This workshop aims to bring together economists working on “non- standard” incentives in principal-agent relationships, theoretically
as well as empirically, to present and discuss their work in progress.

14 papers will be presented in the course of two days (30 minutes paper presentation, 5 minutes discussant presentation, 10 minutes
general discussion per paper). Each paper presenter will serve as discussant of one paper. The conference will comprise invited and contributed papers.

2012 Special Issue on Management Cases — Call For Paper


《管理評論》為提供國內學者一個共同切磋與研究個案教學方法的學術園地,於2007年12月首創國內先例,發行第一本「我國產業個案特刊」,隨後獲得《資訊管理學報》、《中山管理評論》、《電子商務學報》等 TSSCI 期刊響應,前後已陸續舉辦六次「我國產業個案專刊」。為持續管理個案之研究,建立並維持一年至少一本TSSCI期刊發行個案特刊的傳統,本刊將於2012年第三次出版個案特刊。期望藉此活動,對我國個案教學略盡棉薄之力,推動實務個案與管理學術研究的結合,進而提昇我國管理教育之水準。

《管理評論》2012年「管理個案特刊」將再創國內先例,擴大徵稿範圍,接受以下各類個案:管理層級真實公司個案、管理層級匿名公司個案、作業層級真實公司個案、作業層級匿名公司個案。真實公司個案又可分為以田野調查(Field Study)方式取得資料的田野個案 (Field Case),和以第二手資料撰寫的圖書館個案(Library Case)。管理層級個案與作業層級個案之定義請參考



1. 真實公司個案必須為近年內我國產業實際發生之事件,於標題採用公司真實名稱,忠實敘述事件的個案。

2. 若是田野個案(Field Case),作者應取得公司授權,並簽署授權書(如附件一)。

3. 若是圖書館個案(Library Case),作者應註明每一個資料之出處,資料出處必須可公開取得。

4. 個案內容應分為個案本文個案討論兩大部分。個案本文描述實際發生之特定事件,以一個完整教學個案的方式呈現(參考附件二);個案討論為從管理理論與教學角度所做之分析與討論。個案本文與個案討論兩部分之字數由作者自行斟酌,但總字數必須符合《管理評論》投稿規則(。

3. 簽署著作權聲明書暨同意書:投稿著作必須為尚未發表且尚未授權給第三者之原始著作,所有列名作者皆須親筆簽署「著作權聲明書暨同意書」,並將同意書原稿郵寄至「11699台北木柵郵局174號信箱 管理評論編輯部收」。

於現今之知識經濟環境下,無形資產之重要性不言而喻。先進國家面臨經濟成長遲緩,更加重視並積極的開發其無形資源,例如投資創意城市以提升相關產業之附加價值,制訂鼓勵企業創新之措施等。因此智慧資本(IC)理念之產生、推廣與研究始於北歐,至今許多歐盟會員國已將智慧資本納入國家發展重要議題。 台灣之經濟發展面臨轉型,如何善用最豐富且優質的人力資源以創造第二波經濟奇蹟,一直是政府關心的議題。

早在2003年,經濟部即委託政治大學進行智慧資本學界科專的研究,國科會人文處也於2004年補助相關學者啟動智慧資本歐洲學習之旅。經過眾多學者們多年的努力,台灣智慧資本研究於國內外已小有成就,為了記錄智慧資本研究於台灣的演進,同時匯集學者們的智慧,管理評論特別籌編此「智慧資本特刊」。 管理評論為管理領域之綜合性學術期刊,編輯方針為強調國際化、創新化、雙語化、網路化,特別是理論與運用之結合,藉以提升國內學術水準。期待此特刊亦可提供國內與國際相關人士之參考,有助於提升台灣之學術地位。


本特刊歡迎國內外一切有關智慧資本之論文。迄至目前為止,實務界與學術界對於智慧資本之組成已有共識,大致包括,人力資本、結構資本、流程資本、創新資本、關係資本與社會資本。在研究課題方面,若從研究取向來看,包括(1)財務與會計取向之IC的評價、無形資產的會計準則等,(2)管理與策略取向之IC組成因子及其交互作用對組織績效的影響、IC的搭構(Architecturing)與動態性、以及IC的策略議題等。至於研究分析之層級,則可包括組織層級、組織間層級、產業層級、城市層級、與國家層級。 極度歡迎前述IC相關研究課題之中、英文研究論文來稿(唯不以上列課題為限)。本特刊期待能寄送國外相關研究機構參考,論文稿件之英文內容與品質。請作者自行處理英文專業編修部分。

本次研討會特色 本次研討會採「全文」投稿,且與期刊密切結合。研討會會後錄取論文,擇優推薦於臺北大學所出版的「電子商務研究」學報。對作者來說,等於參加一次研討會,外加發表一篇學術期刊論文。

稿件之同儕互審 本次研討會稿件,將採同儕互審。投稿作者中具有博士學位者,均會收到至多三篇的審查稿件。若適合之審查委員不足,或有其他考量時,主辦單位將另覓專家進行稿件審查。

稿件之審查標準 本次研討會稿件,將經匿名審查。而由於研討會有既定的審查時程,因此,能讓作者在較短時間內,就能夠獲知審查結果。

投稿之學術倫理 所有稿件均必須未曾在研討會或學報中發表或正接受審查中,以維學術慣例。但屬於比賽性質的任何形式碩博士論文獎不在此限,已參加各種競賽者,仍可投稿本研討會。

文獻與論文格式 投稿稿件需以word編排,格式應符合「電子商務研究」學報之規定,稿件格式將提供在網站。稿件需包含中英文摘要、中英文題目。投稿前,作者應仔細校對,確保品質。所有引用文獻,均需列於參考文獻中,且參考文獻內所列文獻,應經在本文內引用過。

Submission Deadline: October 1, 2011

Competitive papers are invited in, but not limited to, the topic areas listed. No author information should be included with the paper that is submitted. Qualified individuals will referee papers submitted through a double blind peer review process. In addition, we welcome the submission of one-page single-spaced research abstracts (about 900 words) which will not be subject to blind review. Acceptance of abstracts and papers are subject to final approval by the Track Chairs/Program Chair. Accepted papers and abstracts of authors who have registered for the conference will be published in the Proceedings (available in CD-ROM format only) and scheduled for presentation at the annual meeting. Paper submission acknowledges that the author(s) will register for and attend the conference and personally present the accepted paper at the time specified in the conference program. Publication in the program Proceedings of multiple papers by the same author will be subject to extra page charges.

All complete papers will be considered for the Alpha Iota Delta, the Decision Sciences and Information Systems Honor Society, Best Paper Awards in the following categories:

Our contract with the conference hotel allows us to use the meeting space without charge and without penalties if we meet certain criteria, including that that our group uses a minimum number of room nights in the hotel (covered by your usage of the hotel). WDSI is heavily penalized if we don’t meet these minimums. Therefore, it is very important to have conference participants stay in the conference hotel. We had negotiated an attractive rate for the group with complimentary internet access, complimentary self-parking and complimentary fitness center access.

All manuscripts and proposals for the WDSI 2011 Annual Meeting must be submitted electronically. To submit your paper, please go to the WDSI home page ( and click on the Online Submission link. Follow the directions provided there to enter your paper and author information and upload your document. Note: The submission site will be activated on June 15, 2011, with a submission deadline of October 1, 2011. The review process will begin October 15, 2011 and authors will be notified of manuscript acceptance/rejection by December 9, 2011. Accepted papers will be included in the proceedings only if at least one author is registered for the conference by the deadline for proceedings submissions, January 12, 2012.

Papers and abstracts accepted for presentation will be scheduled during sessions throughout the day on Wednesday and Thursday or on Friday morning. Please plan to present your paper when it is scheduled. It is too difficult to accommodate requests for changes.

Abstracts will not be blind reviewed. However, they should contain enough detail so that the track chair can determine if they are appropriately rigorous for presentation. Also, the detail will help the track chairs and program chair place them in an appropriate session.

When you submit your paper or abstract to the electronic submission system and later when you register for the conference, please be careful as you enter information, as much of it is used directly in preparing the Proceedings and the Program. Please DO NOT use all upper-case or all lower case letters. For the title of your paper, use Proper Case (first letter of each word capitalized except for minor words; capitalize minor words at the start of the title). DO NOT enclose the title in quotation marks. Capitalize only the first letter of your first, middle, and last names. Spell out the official name of your institution; do not abbreviate. Capitalize the first letter of each word of your institution name as you would normally see it. The abstract of your paper should be in sentence case (first letter of each sentence capitalized and proper nouns capitalized).

The page allowance for the Proceedings is as follows for papers which are accepted and for which a registration fee is paid: six pages for full papers and two pages for abstracts. An extra page fee will be charged for papers beyond these limits. Also, the page allowance is for each registration, so an author who has more than one paper or abstract accepted will be subject to extra page charges for papers beyond the first unless a co-author is also a separate registrant.

3. 審查結果通知日期:審查結果之公告,臺灣地區稿件為2011年10月12日 (星期三),所有結果將陸續以專函通知。
