ESA-announce Faculty positions at Michigan: Social Computing

Posted on 2011/10/24. Filed under: 經濟, 綜合, 實驗 | 標籤:, , |

Dear Colleagues,

Several people asked me about our deadline for the tenure track position in Social Computing. The search committee will start reviewing applications after November 1, but applications will be accepted till late November. Hope that helps.

If you decide to apply, it will help the search committee greatly if you can explain in your cover letters how and why you think you fit the Social Computing job description and the School. It will increase your chance of securing an interview than submitting a generic cover letter. Please do not hesitate to contact me or Erin Krupka if you have any questions regarding this position or the diversity postdoc position.

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to bring your attention to a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level at the School of Information, University of Michigan. This position was published in the October JOE, in the area of Social Computing. Please see the URL for explanations in econ jargon: Please note that the application deadline is Nov. 1.

In addition to the tenure-track position, the University of Michigan has several postdoctoral “diversity fellowships." See a full description of the postdoc at Candidates can be in any field of interest to School of Information (SI), including behavioral and experimental economics. Unlike ordinary postdoc positions, the candidates will be under serious considerations for tenure-track positions at SI after completing the postdoc.

A few important points:

1) Potential postdoc candidates need to specify a mentor at SI. They need to contact this mentor before applying and secure his/her agreement to sponsor.

2) Potential postdoc candidates need to contact Paul Edwards by October 24 before submitting an application (pne).

3) The criteria for diversity are extremely broad now, and include not only race, ethnicity, etc. but also economic hardship, first person in a family to attend college, women in the economic profession, and other backgrounds not well represented in our faculty. They also include people whose research and/or teaching is directed at increasing diversity and equal opportunity. Examples of appropriate backgrounds and activities are at
