Annual Hawaii International Business Research Conference

Theoretical and empirical papers or case studies relating to all broad areas of Accounting, Banking, Finance, Economic, Management, Marketing, Business Statistics, Business Law and Business Education are invited for the above international conference which is affiliated with five international peer reviewed journals and World Business Institute.

A. Publication Opportunities

All accepted papers will be published in the special issues of these journals by 28 October. 2010 and Best paper award will be announced from a block of 10 papers in each track and will be published in any of the above journals without any further cost.

B. Get your Refereed Conference proceedings before conference day !

All accepted abstract and full papers will be published in the refereed conference proceedings with ISBN and will be published electronically via a separate website, namely, www.wbiconpro.com which also contains proceedings of previous conferences

C. Get your paper’s Review Report before conference day (What we do, others do not.)

We will send you review report about your paper before the commencement of the conference . This report is provided only after registration payment.

D. REVIEW PROCESS AND NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE

Author will be notified review outcome within seven days after arrival of paper.

第一屆 2010 提升學習生產力研討會

提升教師教學品質與學生學習成效

企業之發展與其技術、設備、市場環境密切相關,但部分企業已逐漸意識到在相同的技術、設備與市場的條件下,企業營運的成敗終將決定於組織競爭力,亦即,員工的專業能力、管理能力、創意能力以及溝通表達能力,這些能力主要來自於組織內的相互學習,而組織內的學習效率,可透過良好的教育訓練過程與先進教學技術之應用與投入,創造最高的學習成效與產出,此即『學習生產力』。

大學教育是企業培訓人才的搖籃,近年來高等教育普及,大學畢業生遽增,但專業能力與學生平均素質卻逐年下降,企業明顯察覺現在大學畢業生的「量」提升,「質」卻反而下降。有鑑於此,由台北科技大學工業工程與管理系幾位事業有成之傑出校友共同發起「2010年提升學習生產力研討會」,以「提升教師教學品質與學生學習成效」為主軸,廣邀產官學各界專家共同研討,透過資訊科技之應用與創新的教學方法,促進學習生產力,並藉由論文的發表以達到研究成果的分享與交流。

茲訂於99年10月23日(星期六)假國立臺北科技大學舉行第一屆【提升學習生產力研討會】,自即日起公開徵求論文,歡迎踴躍投稿並參與盛會。

We invite you to submit a paper/abstract to The 2nd International Conference on Engineering and Meta-Engineering: ICEME 2011 (March 27th – 30th, 2011 – Orlando, Florida, USA): http://www.2011iiisconferences.org/ICEME

Below are the deadlines for ICEME 2011:

Papers/Abstracts Submission and Invited Session Proposals: September 22nd, 2010
Authors Notifications: November 22nd, 2010
Camera-ready, full papers: December 15th, 2010

Technical keynote speakers will be selected from early submissions because this selection requires an additional evaluation according to the quality of the paper, assessed by its reviewers, the authors’ CV and the paper’s topic.

All Submitted papers/abstracts will go through three reviewing processes: (1) double-blind (at least three reviewers), (2) non-blind, and (3) participative peer reviews. These three kinds of review will support the selection process of those papers/abstracts that will be accepted for their presentation at the conference, as well as those to be selected for their publication in JSCI Journal.

Pre-Conference and Post-conference Virtual sessions (via electronic forums) will be held for each session included in the conference program, so that sessions papers can be read before the conference, and authors presenting at the same session can interact during one week before and after the conference. Authors can also participate in peer-to-peer reviewing in virtual sessions.

Submissions for Face-to-Face or for Virtual Participation are both accepted. Both kinds of submissions will have the same reviewing process and the accepted papers will be included in the same proceedings.

Authors of accepted papers who registered in the conference can have access to the evaluations and possible feedback provided by the reviewers who recommended the acceptance of their papers/abstracts, so they can accordingly improve the final version of their papers. Non-registered authors will not have access to the reviews of their respective submissions.

Registration fees of an effective invited session organizer will be waived according to the policy described in the web page (click on ‘Invited Session’, then on ‘Benefits for the Organizers of Invited Sessions’), where you can get information about the ten benefits for an invited session organizer. Authors of the best 10%-20% of the papers presented at the conference (included those virtually presented) will be invited to adapt their papers for their publication in the Journal of Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics.

Fourth Annual Global Studies ConferenceYou may have read last month that the Fourth Annual Global Studies Conference location had still not been finalized. We have good news – the venue and dates have been decided!

Please join us in Rio de Janeiro from 18-20 July, 2011 at the JW Marriott for the Fourth Global Studies Conference. With a special theme on Latin America and Globalization: Emerging Societies and Emancipation, the conference promises to be as engaging as the city you will be staying in.

WCSE & GCIS 2010 intends to be a global forum for researchers and engineers to present and discuss recent innovations and new techniques in intelligent systems and software engineering.

WCSE & GCIS 2010 conference proceedings will be published by the CPS which will include the conference proceedings in the IEEE Xplore and submit the conference proceedings to Ei Compendex and ISTP for indexing (WCSE & GCIS 2009 proceedings were already indexed in Ei Compendex). The registration fee of US D 400 or RM B 2700 includes publication of 1 paper, lunches, dinners, and banquet.

Specific topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

GCIS: artificial intelligence, machine learning, intelligent control and automation, computational intelligence, soft computing, nature-inspired computation, bio-inspired algorithms, neuro-fuzzy techniques, genetic and evolutionary algorithms, semantic web, etc..

WCSE: Software metrics; Software tools and development environments; Software policy and ethics; Programming languages; Internet and information systems development; Software requirements; Software architecture and design; Software components and reuse; Software testing and analysis; Human-Computer Interaction; Software processes and workflows; Software dependability, safety, privacy and reliability; Reverse engineering and maintenance; Program comprehension and visualization, etc..

Wuhan is known as the “Homeland of White Clouds and Yellow Crane" and is one of China´s largest cities. There are many scenic spots and historical sites within and around Wuhan, for example, the Yellow Crane Tower, the East Lake, many charming colonial style buildings along Yanjiang Street and around Hongshan Square.

GRETA Associati (Venice, Italy), Intesa Sanpaolo (Milan, Italy), Banca d’Italia (Venice, Italy), Cerved Group (Milan, Italy), Finanziaria Internazionale (Conegliano, Italy) and Financial Innovations (Milan, Italy) are co-sponsors of a Conference to be held in Venice on September 30 October 1, 2010. The objective of the Conference is to bring together academics, practitioners and PhD students working in the area of credit risk modeling. The conference will provide an opportunity for participants engaged in research at the forefront of this area to discuss both the causes and implications of recent events in financial markets and may, in turn, suggest fruitful directions for future research. The Conference, organised under the auspices of the Department of Economics of the University Ca Foscari of Venice, ABI – Italian Banking Association, European Investment Bank and Assogestioni (Rome, Italy), is the ninth of a series dedicated to various aspects of credit risk.

Registration fees are:

Academics: 250 Euro (+ VAT 20%) 300 Euro (+ VAT 20%)
Practitioners: 750 Euro (+ VAT 20%) 900 Euro (+ VAT 20%)
PhD Students*: 50 Euro (+ VAT 20%) 100 Euro (+ VAT 20%)

For participants presenting a paper there are no fees.
*Students will have to provide valid proof of their student status.

The registration fees cover: Admission to all scientific sessions; Lunches and coffee service during the meeting; Conference package

The registration fees do not fully cover the conference dinner on Thursday, September 30 for which there is a charge of 70 Euro for each attending person (participants as well as accompanying persons).

ACCOMMODATION

We offer pre-booked accommodation. This accommodation is available on a first come-first served basis and, due to the high demand for accommodation in Venice at the time, cannot be guaranteed after July 20 2010. We strongly recommend that you make your booking early.

Conference in Honour of Sir David F. Hendry (July 22nd and 23rd, St Andrews)

The Scottish Institute for Reseach in Economics, the Royal Economic Society and the University of St Andrews are combining to host a conference later this month in Scotland to recognise the career achievements of Sir David Hendry, after his knighthood for services to social science in the 2009 UK Birthday Honours list.

The conference will run for two days in Parliament Hall, St Andrews, from the morning of Thursday 22nd until mid-afternoon on Friday 23rd July. The keynote speakers are:- Sir David himself, Robert Engle, Søren Johansen, Katarina Juselius and Halbert White. The conference fee includes two nights’ accommodation (Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd) in the premium hall of residence in St Andrews, and many people are also staying for at least one extra night. The first additional night can be booked at the conference rate under “additional options" in the online shop. There will be informality around the conference and indeed some people are bringing spouses and partners and are having a short break in Scotland. And last but not least, there will be a jazz band at the conference dinner on the Thursday evening, led by Hal White on the trumpet!

The conference programme is essentially full but it would still, I think, be possible to include one or two more contributed talks. There is also a poster session on the Thursday. If you’d like to give a contributed talk or present a paper at the poster session, please additionally e-mail dfh2010 with at least a title and abstract, and preferably a paper.
