ESA-announce Inaugural Vernon Smith Ascending Scholar Prize Announcement

We are pleased to announce that Danila Serra has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Vernon L. Smith Ascending Scholar Prize.

This $50,000 prize is presented by the International Foundation for Research in Experimental Economics (IFREE). The prize is given to an exceptional scholar in the field of experimental economics whose work embodies IFREE’s mission to Promote Human Betterment through Experimental Economics to Improve the Understanding of Exchange Systems. Eligibility is limited to Assistant and Associate Professors (or equivalent).

Dr. Serra was selected through a nomination process which identified many promising and highly-productive scholars in experimental economics. Her pioneering research on corruption is well-known and widely-cited, and has provided key insights into both the extent of corruption and potential policy interventions.

ESA-announce 2018 ICPSR Summer Program: Courses in Statistics & Quantitative Methods

We are pleased to announce the 56th annual ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research.

ABOUT
The ICPSR Summer Program provides rigorous, hands-on training in statistical techniques and research methodologies used in the social, behavioral, and medical sciences. We strive to fulfill the needs of researchers throughout their careers by offering instruction on a broad range of topics, ranging from introductory statistics to advanced quantitative methods and cutting-edge techniques. Our participants include graduate students, faculty, researchers, and policy analysts from more than 350 universities, institutions, and organizations around the world.

DATES AND LOCATIONS
From May through August 2018, we will offer more than 80 courses in cities across the U.S. Our courses range in length from 3 days to four weeks.

Our four-week sessions are held in Ann Arbor, Michigan:

First Session: June 25 – July 20, 2018
Second Session: July 23 – August 17, 2018

We will also offer dozens of short workshops in Ann Arbor and other cities.

REGISTRATION & ADDITIONAL INFO
We will announce our 2018 schedule in January, and registration for all courses will open in early February. Scholarships are available.

ESA-announce post-doc position announcement

We are hiring a post-doc interested in natural resource economics, especially issues related to resource-rich economies. Preference will be given to candidates with training in experimental economics. The position is for up to 2 years and includes a generous compensation package, relocation allowance and a research/travel budget. Details below.

ESA-announce Call for Papers & Sessions: SABE Sessions at 2018 WEAI Conference, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, June 26-30, 2018

Hello,

Last year the Society for the Advancement of Behavioral Economics (SABE) organized 17 sessions at the Western Economics Association International (WEAI) annual conference. The sessions included behavioral, experimental, and happiness research. The sessions were well received and attended.

This year we will again be organizing SABE sessions at WEAI annual conference. The 2018 WEAI AnnualConference will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, June 26-30, 2018 (see http://weai.org/AC2018 for additional details regarding the conference).

If you would like to present a paper please complete the following submission form by Friday, January 12, 2018: click this link for submission form.

If you would like to propose a session please email me (jifcher) by January 12, 2018 with the following information: session title, paper titles, abstracts, and lists of all authors (with affiliations, email, and mailing addresses).
