We are pleased to announce that Danila Serra has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Vernon L. Smith Ascending Scholar Prize.

This $50,000 prize is presented by the International Foundation for Research in Experimental Economics (IFREE). The prize is given to an exceptional scholar in the field of experimental economics whose work embodies IFREE’s mission to Promote Human Betterment through Experimental Economics to Improve the Understanding of Exchange Systems. Eligibility is limited to Assistant and Associate Professors (or equivalent).

Dr. Serra was selected through a nomination process which identified many promising and highly-productive scholars in experimental economics. Her pioneering research on corruption is well-known and widely-cited, and has provided key insights into both the extent of corruption and potential policy interventions.
