ESA-announce New Ph.D. program at the University of Munich
Dear friends!
I would like to draw your attention to a new Ph.D. program within the Munich Graduate School of Economics (with partners at other places in Bavaria). We recently received a grant for funding a Ph.D. program in economics, titled "Evidence-Based Economics", starting in autumn 2013.
The objective of the graduate program is to train doctoral students so that they can conduct research at the frontier of theory-guided, evidence-based economics. Integrating theory, empirical methods, and policy analysis in both training and research of students is, in our view, the main innovation of this graduate program. Clean identification of effects is one of the major research objectives, and experimental economics will play a central role. The program will run alongside our standard Ph.D. program in economics.
I would be very grateful if you could make your best students aware of this possibility. The application phase for the first cohort entering in October 2013 has already started (deadline is in April). The program is of course taught in English; proficiency in German is not required.
Here is the link with more information on the program, the teaching faculty, Munich, etc: http://www.evidence-based-economics.de/home.html
Best wishes and thanks a lot!
Martin
