國立中興大學應用經濟系出版的學術期刊《應用經濟論叢》(Taiwan Journal of Applied Economics，簡稱TJAE)，自1963年創刊至今，發行迄今已有50餘年的歷史，創刊之初原名《農業經濟半年刊》，後於2008年第84期起，更名為《應用經濟論叢》，並維持每年六月及十二月出刊，一年出版兩期之傳統。
《應用經濟論叢》收錄於國科會TSSCI之重要文獻索引資料庫，目前為經濟實證研究之學術專業期刊，提供給產官學各界參考。
《應用經濟論叢》竭誠歡迎學界朋友投稿經濟相關領域之實證研究，中英文學術論文皆可，投稿內文須具備研究方法與實証分析之經濟相關論文，研究領域包括產業組織、能源、環境、國際貿易、國際金融、實證財務、健康、勞動、農業、自然資源或其他具政策涵意之學術專業論文。

Theoretical and empirical papers or case studies relating to all broad areas of Accounting, Banking, Finance, Economics, Management, Marketing, Business Statistics, Business Law and Business Education are invited for the above international conference. This conference is sponsored by eight international peer reviewed journals which are all Cabell’s indexed and 5 of which are ERA listed and awaiting ISI indexation, such as Journal of Business & Policy Research, Global Economy and Finance Journal. International Review of Business Research Papers, World Journal of Management, Global Review of Accounting and Finance, World Review of Business Research, World Journal of Social Sciences and Journal of Accounting, Finance and Economics and four international organisations such as World Business Institute, Australia, WBI London limited, UK, American Research and Publications International, USA and National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan.
A. Paper Submission and Review Process
Please send either abstract and/or full paper (in MS Word File format ONLY) before or by 20 September 2013 to Ms. Nuha Jahan via email address: taiwanconfo(at)gmail.com. If you are running out of time, you can send us just abstract now. Once abstract is accepted, you send full paper by 14 October. Please ensure the paper contains the title of the paper and all author name (s) and affiliation(s). Please also click on the Paper Submission Guidelines and Sample Paper links to learn more about the paper format. All papers will undergo a double blind peer review process before review outcome is announced.
B. Best Paper Award and Journal Publication
All accepted outstanding papers will be published in the above international refereed journals subject to compliance to the review report, editorial comments and payment of applicable submission fees. Best paper award will be announced 2 weeks after the conference and the best papers will be published in any of the above journals and a certificate will be issued to the author.
C. Refereed Conference Proceedings and Paper Evaluation Report
All accepted abstract and full papers that register for the conference will be published in the refereed conference proceedings with ISBN and will be published electronically via a separate website www.wbiworldconpro.com which also contains proceedings of previous conferences. All authors who present a paper at the conference will receive written feedback in the form of a Paper Evaluation Report within one-two months after the conference.

Basic registration fee: US $225 and Student registration fee: US $200 .Please visit the Conference fees link provided on the website to find out more about the conference registration fees and discount packages and early bird registration discounts. Please visit the journal link provided to learn more about WBI journals and the cost of publication. We aim to publish accepted papers in journals within 6 – 9 months after the conference, subject to payment of applicable fees and compliance to editorial reports.

NTU Management Review is going to host the 2014 Management Theory and Practice Conference at Kitakyushu, Japan on April 4-5, 2014.
NTU Management Review is an academic journal published by the College of Management, National Taiwan University (NTU) and is included in the Scopus database. The next Round Table of the DAMIN program Silver monetary depreciation and international relations <http://www.anr-damin.net/> will take place in Osaka at the Rihga Royal Hotel <http://www.rihga.com> on 3-6 April 2014. This session is organized in cooperation with IAFOR, International Academic Forum <http://www.iafor.organd included in the Asian Conference on Arts & Humanities. Participants will benefit of all the facilities of the IAFOR conferences.
The topic of the session WHEN ORIENT AND OCCIDENT MEET will consider all the aspects of Western-Eastern economic, monetary, financial and technologic contacts and transfers.

Dear colleagues,
I’m happy to announce that the Texas A&M Department of Economics is seeking to fill five new positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, including one position in the area of experimental and behavioral economics. Texas A&M has a state-of-the-art experimental laboratory and a new program in Behavioral Public Policy. Texas A&M has a long history in the field of experimental economics, and has supported an experiment lab since the 1970s.
For the experimental position, we are particularly interested in scholars at the Assistant Professor rank with a few years of experience and an established record of outstanding research. We are likely to interview promising candidates in fall, prior to the ASSA meetings. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.

講者簡介：
Dr. Chi-fu Huang (黃奇輔博士) is the co-author, with R. Litzenberger, of Foundations for Financial Economics, a distinguished textbook for economics and finance graduate students. He is also a founder and the Non-Executive Chairman of Platinum Grove Asset Management L.P. (PGAM), an investment management company based in New York. He was a full professor and held the J.C. Penney Professorship in finance when he left MIT in the summer of 1994.
Dr. Huang has made major contributions to the theory of financial economics, and has written on dynamic general equilibrium theory, intertemporal utility theory, and the theory of individual consumption and portfolio decisions. His research articles have been published in several prestigious journals, such as Econometrica, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and Review of Financial Studies.

講題摘要：
The “Relative Value Investment" paradigm pioneered by the Bond Arbitrage Group of Salomon Brothers in the 1980’s and further developed by Long-term Capital Management in the 1990’s, Platinum Grove Asset Management and others in the 2000’s will be discussed in some detail in the context of global fixed income markets. Investment opportunities are created by transitory imbalances between supply and demand. Thus this paradigm is tantamount to providing an intermediation service in the market place to smooth out the transitory imbalances and to earn a return in the process. Finally, the role of leverage and principles of risk management will also be discussed.

The Experimental Social Science Laboratory (X-lab) and the Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) at UC Berkeley, and The Choice Lab at NHH Norwegian School of Economics are pleased to announce the 2013 Symposium on Economic Experiments in Developing Countries (SEEDEC) to be held from December 5-6 at the Norwegian School of Economics, Bergen, Norway.
The aim of the conference is to bring together the community of scholars who employ laboratory experimental economics methods for research in developing countries. Keynote speakers are Charles Sprenger (Stanford University) and Edward Miguel (UC Berkeley). The conference will consist of plenary, parallel, and poster sessions.
Papers should be submitted via email by September 30th to Ranveig Falch at thechoicelab(at)nhh.no. Preference will be given to full papers. Successful applicants will be notified by October 15. All participants will have to cover their travel and accommodation.
We also invite you to submit your work for the special issue of the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization entitled Economic Experiments in Developing Countries. Guest editors are Shachar Kariv, Edward Miguel, Jane Zhang, and Bertil Tungodden, and the deadline for submission will be February 1st, 2014. Consult the journal website for further details.

ESA-announce IFREE’s 19th Visiting Graduate Student Workshop in Experimental Economics
Dear Colleagues,
This coming January the International Foundation of Research in Experimental Economics (IFREE) will sponsor its 19th Visiting Graduate Student Workshop on Experimental Economics at Chapman University in (warm) Orange, CA. The seminar will open with a reception on the evening of Tuesday, January 7 and run through Saturday, January 11, 2014.
The purpose of the workshop in economics for PhD students is to introduce and explore the laboratory method of inquiry. The workshop is free to all participants, but students must provide their own transportation to and from the workshop. Application procedures can be found at: http://chapman.edu/research-and-institutions/economic-science-institute/conferences-and-workshops/graduate-workshop.aspx. All applications and letters of recommendation received by September 27, 2013 will be considered. Since this is a competitive program and space is quite limited, the responses to the essay prompts in the application matter. We also ask that each faculty member recommend only one student.
Participants must be able to stay for the duration of the workshop, arriving in time for the opening reception at 6:30 p.m. on January 7. Sunday, January 12 is a day for travel. Local housing arrangements are covered by a generous grant from IFREE. Each day students will participate in experiments for cash. Thus, as part of their learning experience, participants must earn money to help recover their travel expenses. (Please note that all international students must receive approval from their university’s international student office in order to receive payments. If the student is not approved, we will be unable to pay the student earnings from the experiments.)

The Journal of Socio-Economics is inviting submissions for a special issue on Voluntary Market Payments. Voluntary market payments, such as tipping, have a long tradition and sometimes reflect a significant part of the overall payment for a service. More recently voluntary payments have also been adopted or tested at an increasing rate by diverse services such as restaurants, sports events, car repair, hotels, cinema tickets, music downloads or zoos as temporary or even as permanent pricing mechanism for the full service or part of it. Under the name “Pay-what-you-want” (PWYW) or “Pay-as-you-wish” some of these services have gained a significant number of new customers and received customers’ attention while others failed. Implementations vary in their degree of interaction between seller and buyer, the usage of reference prices, combinations with social purposes, sales channels and the value of offered products or services. The increasing number of implementations enables field studies that can help to address interesting research questions.
The special issue on voluntary payments focuses on new thinking and research that helps to better understand the characteristics of and differences between different forms of voluntary payments and their implications for service implementations and the allocation of marketing investments.
The deadline for initial submission to this special issue is November 1st, 2013. When submitting a paper, authors should use the EES system (http://ees.elsevier.com/jse/default.asp) and choose the appropriate article category (authors select SI: Voluntary Market Payments).

臺灣經濟計量學會 (TES)、國立臺灣大學計量理論與應用研究中心 (CRETA) 以及國立臺灣大學財金系將於 2013 年 11 月 2 日 (星期六) 於國立臺灣大學管理學院舉辦 2013 年臺灣經濟計量學會年會。本次年會大會演講將邀請到日本 Hitotsubashi University 的 Prof. Fumio Hayashi 進行一場專題演講。
